   My mother served in the RAF doing strategic bombing photography.
She told me about the time a B-17 crashed on their field and sprayed
her Quonset hut with bullets when the fire reached the guns.
Before that, she would "never dance with Yanks".
After that, she did.

  My parents instilled in me a deep gratitude to the United States
and more particularly to the people who sent their sons and daughters
to free Europe from their own foolishness.
24, 963 US Aircrew never returned to their families. (ETO)

  70, 253 RAF and Commonwealth aircrew perished.

   I love looking at WWII planes but I am always
reminded of what they represent.

Don't ever apologize for getting serious about this kind of memories Keith, we need these shots of reality from time to time to keep our focus on the important things of life, such as remembering the sacrifices given for all of us.  We are a blessed people because of those wonderful folks who were ahead of us.
Someday it might become our turn, let's pray not but be ready anyway.

Well has the mission been completed yet?   Planes look great.   Yes the only way to thank those that gave all for our freedoms is to remember them,  even those that did make it back home. H^^

Two of them are the design you did for Tom Dixon to campaign.  They are fabulous stunt ships!

The D is my re-work of the Tower Hobbies Fun-51 kit.  And it was a rework with a capital R.  Every dimension changed including re-cut rib profiles  I did it as a "challenge".  It flies very good.  Yours flies better.

Wasn't sure, but they looked familiar.  The "B" version was a 560 inch modification of my Mustang 626.  Tom loves his.

Here are Dave and my P-51 Bs.

i added the Malcolm Hood because I noticed in side views in the airplane books it seemed to bring out the curve of the turtle deck.  Easy modification with scrap from the balsa box.
