Aaahhhhh, what's up doc? ::)
Oh yeah....I'm curious about the many forum users opinions regarding what are the "best?" Precision Aerobatic controline model airplanes to never win the U.S. Nats or the World Championships. Some of the contenders I can think of in no particular order: 1. Cobra, 2. Chizler, 3. Shark .35, 4. Nakke, 5. Super Ares, 6. Olympic, 7. Formula "S", 8. Novi III & AAE,..can you think of others deserving mention as approaching the best but just didn't quite make it to the winners circle?? I'm sure there are other international airplanes that could be listed besides the Nakke (Grasshopper?) :!
Jim Pollock, Just stiring the think tank....... ;D

"Nakke" was supposed to mean "Woodpecker" in Finnish, tho I wouldn't swear to it. VD~ Steve

And "The Stunt Machine"...

Steve & Ward,
Woodpecker huh? Well I knew it was something that jumped or flew anyway. It doesn't look like I stirred anything here asking this question. As far as newer airplanes go, i'm not familiar with those build between about 1972 and 1996 or 1997. One other question that just came to mind; is Paul's For Reals an Impact with an I beam wing? Just curious about that little detail.
Jim Pollock ??? :P

Hi JIm,
I know that Paul has an I-Beam Impact, and more than one, IIRC. Pretty sure his latest was the fuselage from one and and the wing from another. Can't remember the exact story........

Uhh, stumbled upon an old thread with attempts to translate Finnish...
The only use for "Nakke", that I can think of, is in the first name of Woody Woodpecker
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woody_Woodpecker ) :
Nakke Nakuttaja, or "Nakke the Knocker"

HI Pertti,
I remember Kerrko Kervahuo (sp) from Finland sending me a couple Finnish model magazines showing Juhani and the Nakke. He aso sent a picture of the World Championships Nakke as it was at the time. The canopy was knocked off and the nose block was replaced. Still needed re-finishing. Kerrko told me that "Nakke" was Finnish for "Woodpecker". ???
One other tid bit: The plane was orange, black and white, but not as some have painted their models to be replicas.
