Credit where credit is due
« on: July 26, 2008, 01:18:29 PM »
I saw something yesterday that I hadn't noticed before- Stunthangar's own Bob "Sparky" Storick finished 21st - highest-scoring non-qualifier. While I am sure he had wished for better, that's still pretty darn good and better than several notable "names" including at least one former national champion.  Nicely done.

It was even nicer close-up.  I was amused when he asked *me* what he should do to get better/  There's not much I am going to tell Bob about how to put on paint!!!

Brett,

We are always looking to get better. When I have a trim or design question, I ask you or Paul. When I have a finish/painting question, I ask Phil or Sparky. When I have an engine question, I ask anyone that knows more than me (about 3/4 of the fliers in America).

Thank you Brett. I know I had Steve Moon sweating with only a 1.67 lead out of the top twenty. I am always open to learn new things in the model world. I only have one point I won't waver from and you Know what that is... Smiles... S?P

Yep; Spark, Gene, KT, and I were all sweating it out. I noticed that our
'group' had what I guess would be the overall highest placing as Sparky,
Gene, and KT finished 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. It was a real battle to the
end. I was very happy with how I flew on Top 20 Day and managed to
finish 13th. I steadily improved as the week went on.

I am already looking forward to next year, and will be showing up with
a plane that should garner more than 13 app. points. That was not helping
me at all. I got 15 points with the Saturn last year, but it has had a hard
life since then, and the bottom of the plane shows it.

Later, Steve

I too am looking forward to it. I am going to try to show up with more than 9 flights on a plane.  LL~
