Any details on what happened to cause the crash?  From the looks of the smoke it doesn't look like too much was left.  Also was anybody hurt?  DOC Holliday

PS:That is what I like about CL, only have to walk so many feet to pick up the pieces.

That is generally true, however one time we were flying when a kid let a combat plane slip out of his hand. It went straight up for awhile and then for some reason leveled out and headed for town.  We listened to it and just before it was out of hearing range we heard a sound like it was going in a circle then very suddenly the sound stopped. We got in a car and started driving around in the general area where we thought it might be. Pretty soon we saw a group of people standing out in the front yard and looking up. We drove by just as the telephone company truck pulled up. Up in the phone lines was what was left of the plane.  Evidently the plane had got low enough that the handle had caught in the telephone line. It then wrapped itself around the telephone lines until it destroyed itself. It was about 6 blocks from where we were flying.

The guy I was with was a friend of the telephone lineman. Nobody appeared to be hurt so we claimed the model. Today I would probably just ask , I wonder how that happened and go on down the road.
