Crap, went down.
« on: July 16, 2007, 10:38:08 AM »
One of my Noblers went down today  :( The up-line hooked in to some crap so the Nobler went over my head with no line tension and down on the other side, I got the line  tension back but then the Nobler was 2 feet from the ground. At first it didnt seem too bad, just the cowl full of dirt but nothing else, not even a scratch. Went home and cleaned the engine and engine compartment, when I was finished I checked out the control system only to find out that the bellcrank probably is broken (3" SIG with solid lead-outs)  ''

There is an old saying in Sweden "Nothing is as bad as it seems to be", well I can prove the opposite....

This has happened to me several times and it sucks every time. Can you fix it?

Well, I hope so. The problem could also be a bent pivot bolt, I will cut up the fuselage to see what the problem is.

It was the pivot bolt. Its the stock one thats included with the SIG 3" nylon bellcrank. I also noticed that the bell crank is pretty worn in the holes that the lead outs pass thru, this only after about 25 flights..... IŽll probably retire the model, its a T/F Noblarf and its too much work to cut the model up and glue it together again. It would have been different if I had built the model, then IŽll probably had repaired it.

Well, well the next noblarf is just coming of the table. All mods included and it even got a cockpit.

Heck repair the wing and make yourself a Nobler Profile.
