Cox Gasket Needed

Hi guys.
I am in desperate needs of the Cox .049 gasket.  The paper gasket  that goes between the tank and the crank case.  I need about 10 of them as most of my motors are in need of replacement.
Any of you guys out in Stunt land have some or know where I can get some?  I am willing to pay.

Jay,

I've used high temp RTV (red) to seal engine parts, when gaskets were not available.

Worked great for me, but you do have to watch clearances, as the parts may pull closer together than with a gasket.

Has anyone else tried RTV, in place of gaskets?

If you still have a motor with a good one, you can carefully take it off and trace it onto a index card, or other thin material. Or trace the crankcase's back..I think I once used the cover from a spiral notebook and worked just fine. Cut it out with scissors/ xacto and your done. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Bill,

Used the red RTV quite a few times.  If you are careful to make sure no "extra" gets inside where it ain't supposed to be, it works great.

Please follow these instructions to the letter!

• Get some 3M 77 spray
• Spray a thin coat on thin gasket material bought from auto parts store.
• Stick it to th back of the case.
• Take a small tack hammer and tap around the edge of the case to cut the paper.
• After cleaning the edges with a sharp #11 blade re-assemble engine.

Its just that easy! It should take about 10 min. I hope this helps.

supposedly aluminum tape works good---head gaskets to--i havent tried it yet

the hamer method works good--would need realy small hamer for cox---possibly a 3/8 or 1/4 socket extension?
