« on: March 13, 2011, 08:32:10 AM »
:!    Guy's I need a muffler for a S T 60 that can be mounted thru the center web of the exhaust.
It doesn't have the muffler ears on each side of the exhaust stack.  # #^
              Thanks a lot

Hi Gil,

I'm sure Randy has something to fix you up!

Leonard Neumann also has an adapter to use on the ST (and other engines with the hole for the R/C butterfly in the exhaust) that takes a "normal" ST tongue or tube muffler.  The adapter bolts into the hole, and has "ears" to hold the muffler.

Scott Riese also makes tongue mufflers for this.

The center hole is not for a muffler but an exhaust baffle. Common in the 60/70 period it closed with the throttle to keep the plug hot to avoid flame outs. That said there are no mufflers made with a single attachment point for any engine. Your going to have to get a strap on or JB weld some brass tubing along side the exhaust stacks to accomodate the muffler bolts.

Aw... Dennis.  You just haven't kept up! LOL!!  Of course the center hole isn't "for" a muffler, but that don't mean no one makes mufflers to mount that way.  Don't make it sound like I don't know what I'm talking about....  ;D

Like I said, everything from tongues with holes in the center to "adapters" to mount in the "center hole" and then mount a regular bolt on muffler.  I have both styles and have used the "adapter" in contest work with a McCoy Red Head .40. ;D

Gil, I believe Art Adamasin also made/makes an adapter to mount on the center exhaust baffle threads, I saw it mounted on an ST60 on EBay. Might check w/ Byron Barker also.
