In just 30 days (who’s counting?) the shootout on the LPad will begin.
The hoped for repairs to the LPad did not happen this year. Word is all three Muncie area paving companies are buried in street repairs. So once more there will be a mile of duct tape applied to the galactic crevasses. The upside is we won’t have to deal with noxious asphalt headaches.
In checking the pre- entries on the AMA website as of this weekend there are 28 names listed in Open. This is shy the amount for the computer programs to function typically but there are a few weeks left and 5 or 6 usual suspects not yet on the list. I’d bet we make it.
Last year we had perfect weather all week. Can we get lucky twice? This spring’s wind and rain have seemed endless here in the middle parts.
Don’t forget the PAMPA meeting on Wednesday evening.
We are sure Mark and Derek will make it a great event and thank them for stepping up.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN !!!!
A few memories from last year:

I'm hoping to be there this year. Its been a long time dealing with the effects of my wife's accident last year.
-
Steve we sure hope you make it. More importantly we hope your wife’s recovery is going as well as possible.

I've been asked how you look up the entries for each event. As follows:
Once on the AMA website hover over the word 'Events' with your pointer.
A blue pop-up will appear. On the upper right corner it will say National Championships. Click on that.
Next you will see 'Event Info'. Hover over that and a drop-down will appear. Click on 'Scores'.
A page will open with all the free flight events listed first-click on page '4'.
The CL events will all appear where you can click on any event you wish and the full list of named entries will appear.
If your name isn't there you'd better get crackin' and get your entry in!

Once again I’m gomna have to hope that maybe next year I’ll be able to make it. Best contest in the world and I hate missing it! :'(

I think we will get more entries before the contest, but that problem has addressed in advance.

Woohoo!

Ah, the Western Ohio Regionals.
Chris...
Well, there are a few westerners that usually attend!
Last year the finals were a virtual repeat of the Northwest Regionals!

Well, i do have about 15-20 flights this year, feeling pretty good. A couple of those flights were on my own airplane.

Don't burn yourself out. Ask your Dad for a cold one and put up those tired feet!

All that low-entry bother for naught. Hope it didn’t mess anything else up.

I’ll talk to the Space Force guys. Keep painting.

Space Force (actually, still just Space Command (one short of a separate service for years now)) would be right in there with you. ULA/Tory Bruno, on the other hand, not so much.
The slip is for pretty legitimate reason.

We appreciate your efforts, even if you didn't agree with us. I will be advising Mark to use an older, more tested version of the program, since our numbers look good this year.

Thanks Derek!

It seems that when I try to go to the AMA website I always get a timed out message. Anybody else? PC and Firefox, my wife's Ipad, and my Galaxy S5. Same thing with Chrome.

Why does everybody mock the idea of a US Space Force? The budget for the military and other governmental space programs is about 20X that of NASA, which is a very small player in space. There are plenty of individual military and space *programs* that exceeded the budge of NASA all on their own.
The Chinese are aggressively developing the means to conduct space warfare operations against extremely critical assets, and the Russians have successfully tested orbit anti-satellite weapons as long as 40 years ago. If a real war breaks out between the major players, the front lines will be space, not lines on a map or over airspace.
Space has been a separate command in the Air Force for about 15 years or so, and has little commonality with aircraft acquisition and operation. It makes perfect sense to me to consolidate space activities under a separate force, it's a different deal from airplanes or boats or rifles. just like airplanes are different from tanks - which led to the separation of the Air Force as an independent entity.
