PICTURES-----from todays flying session
« on: August 26, 2007, 08:48:14 PM »
It's funny how we always talk about what great friendships we make at the circle but we always take pictures of the planes for posting here. Today I took pix of my friends and am posting them here. Their names are in the picture captions.

SO.................Greg brought out his brand new profile Strathmoor Stunter and got in his first flights with it today.
John Paris brought out his fairly new SV 22 and flew it really well.
Grace Paris demonstrated that she could fly inverted and do wingovers. She can already do inside and outside loops and horizontal figure eights.
Dan Miles used a plastic pop bottle as a muffler. It worked!!
Dave Keats brought out his .25 powered twin Mustang.
I took my LA Heat and am starting to fly the whole pattern with it. It turns tight as a...a...well.....tight!!
JAN is between planes right now but he came out to visit with us.

Here are pictures of my friends.

Thankyou Richard and Greg----------

Interestingly, yesterdays session was an impromptu affair. John and Grace made an 80 mile one way trip to get to RCCD. Greg drove 30 miles. We started around 11 a.m. and stayed till 6:30 p.m.
We've all been traveling back and forth to fly together.

Here are just a few more pix.

Great pictures,  now if I can remember to print them off so I can remember what name goes with what face.  Of course who can forget a beautiful lady as Grace Paris.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

Hi Doc H^^

This summer I got to meet a few of the guys I've known on the internet. It was great to experience the personality coming from a live person rather than on the monitor screen.
I got the idea then that we've all seen a load of airplane pictures but not nearly enough of the people. So now I'm concentrating on people. Everyone in the pictures knew in advance that I planned on posting the pix and they all gave me permission to do so.
It's the people who make my experience of this sport so rewarding.

Frank managed to leave out some of the significant events from yesterday's flying session.  The first and most important to him was a number of complete patterns with his LA Heat and overcoming the engine flame out issue that he was having.  The last flight as the best as both engines quit about 1 second apart.  Now all he needs is get out and fly it a little more and there will be a competitive twin engine stunter in the Midwest.

The second significant event (at least for Team Paris) was Grace flying inverted for the first time on purpose.  She just did a half loop and then flew inverted for a lap and then two.  She even switched planes and did it with another.  Her question:  Why do people find this so hard??  After rolling my eyes a little bit I answered that it is not so easy for all people.  I guess that the fleet is safe until Michael decides it is time to "fly the other way".

We all had a great time and learned a bit as well.  BTW this was at the Radio Control Club of Detroit's CL field.  We had a lot of visitors come over from the RC side to see what was going on.  Lots of comments on Frank's bird.

I've just finished setting up a few more pictures for posting. Note how nice the sky is. Also....RCCD is a scenic place to fly. I don't fly there nearly enough.
