Looking for information

In my travels I purchased a plane from a vendor just because I hadn't seen anything like it.  It was in pretty bad - but restorable condition.  He told me it was a kit called a Temco Jet Trainer.   It's a stunter, I'd guess about 48 - 50 ",  full flaps and a Fox .35 fits into the engine area.  Anybody give me any information about who made the original kit and when ?  I still have it hanging in a shed and was thinking about rebuilding it.  Thanks......

That plane was neve kitted.  If you look close you will see it takes two blocks of balsa for the fuse.  Then you attach the tail with the tail surfaces.  Thought about it my self, but kept putting it off as it would be to hard to align every thing.

You are corrfect Doc, and the blocks seem to have made it pretty tail heavy.  I'll take a picture when the weather here breaks a bit.......

The pictures of the plane reminds me how many times I would pull the magazine down and look at the design.  That plane is begging to be restored.  I know it is a lot of work.  If you check in the finishing part of this forum Randy Powell reccommends a great paint/finish remover.  Also check the controls out real good as they may eed replacing.  Keep us posted and thanks for the pics.

Hi Dalton,

I have the magazine article somewhere close by. I was reading it about 3 weeks ago.  It was also a plan in the tiny "Winston" books that AHC sold.  Same plane/design.  I never tackled it just because of the block fuselage construction, like Doc.

A good story is included in the magazine article.

If you are driving by, you can drop it off and I will recover/repair it for you.

The snow shovel depends on which part of the state you live in.   Where I was born, you definitely need one, where I live now, it would be a waste of money! LOL!!  We might need one ever couple of decades.
