Title: Converting Regular to Uniflow
Post by: DanielGelinas on August 25, 2011, 10:11:37 AM
Hi all,

I have a pile of regular metal tanks I would like to convert to uniflow.
Is the answer as simple as changing the regular fill tube to a longer (to the back, outboard) tube and resolder? Do I need to open up the sides for this?

Also, what type of soldering tools do you use? Electric, Butane...?
I have a Weller soldering gun in the 900 to 1100 degree range. Is that OK?

Thanks,

-danny

As far as the solder gun goes that is what I've used with good success. remember to test for leaks after you make your alterations.
