What diameter lines should be used with a .35 engine?  Should I use .015 or .018?

.015 or .018s. Your choice. Depending on what plane you're attaching to, the .015s can be a bit stretchy and some prefer the .018s. But you can use the .015s as Bill points out. I do.

I searched and searched but could not find it. Remember someone posted a video of a guy flying a combat plane and kept getting the lines shorter and shorter until it was about 10 ft.

Like the G-Man said. 15 will work. Less drag from what I understand.

The line length range, 25-to-70 has been a weak point of the rules for decades. 
It should have a more reasonable and better-thought-out set of ranges, not just 25-to-70 across the board.

Perhaps somthing like:

1/2A:    25' to 52'
.050 to .25:  42' to 70'
.26 to .4028;  52' to 70'
above .4028; 60' to 70'

The writer was correct, the rules do permit flying on extremely short lines, which would be unsafe if anybody did it.  But I have yet to see anybody try it.

   You may be right I don't know,but then that is not why I am posting this. I wish to set the record straight on something. You refer to someone as the writer, surely you can't mean me as I am not the one who wrote the Line Size Rule. I just copied it from the text. If you were refering to me just look at some of the other posts, I am known by several titles givin to me by people on this forum. One is my real name--Bill Gruby, Then there is "Billy G" and finally my favorite given to me by "Shultzie" "The G-Man" Please don't be so formal. I will answer to any one or all of these names. Also while I am here I had thought this thread was over when John thanked us for the correct info as it is written. Must be something in the air today with all this talk about Rules changes. Nuff said.

John,  line sizes for a 0.35 CI engine is 0.015 for stunt and most sport stunt types of planes.  but if you intend to fly combat or any of the racing events and sport race stuff, the rule calls for 0.018 inch lines.  There are contests that sometimes call for different sizes fot special occasions or to try to get better performance, so always read the rules for the types of events like the type of plane you are flying

I didn't mean the "writer of the rule",  I meant the "writer of the comment" about flying big engines on short lines (Rootbeard).   I agreed with his point that current rules allow flying big engines on VERY SHORT lines.
