Everyone know CLW is ending in September. Would there be any interest in CLW online here at Stunt Hangar? John and I are discussing this possibility.$24.95 per year Quarterly.
Post your interest here so John and I know if its worth doing.

Sparky,
Would subscribing give access to back issues?
Thank you,

I would support it, IF there was an impartial editor....

I am in for a subscription if this happens

Me too!

I like the idea and the back issue idea. Would be great to read it on our phone or whatever and look up back issues, with digital plans.
-
Count the old DOC in also.
-
Sparky,
The on-line publication CLW would interest me, but I would
be doubly interested to a subscription in a hard-copy !! I
subscribed to Stunt News last year, using the digital option.
None of the 6 issues have been completely read. I like the
ability of carrying my SN in the house where ever I want to.
Wonder how many subscribers would be necessary to make
publishing a hard copy a viable business for John. It's a shame to see one
of the last magazines bite the dust, that is devoted to
controline interests.
Oh, well..."(progress ???)" marches on.
Cheers.

I just bought a new Chrome book- would be perfect platform to read my airplane magazine What would really be awsume would be to revive Flying Models and combine with CLW as an online format. Lyle

Same editor as CLW currently has now. There will no longer be a hard copy. The reason John is stopping the mag is print and mail costs. So He and I are working on the digital contract. It will be in PDF if you wish a hard copy just print it at home.

I will check and see if the back issues are in file format.

I for sure would.

Count me in (and back issues would be a real plus).

I'd subscribe.

Count me in! A few drivebys past McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts will pay for it. That way I'll contribute to saving both Stunt World and my health!

I used to down load or burn Stunt News to disc. But now I have windows 10 and haven't got it figured out yet. All the hard copies went to the southern hemisphere.
-
Yep Sparky, Count me in!
-
I guess everyone has noticed, the ink for printers costs almost as much as the printer itself! It takes only a few colored prints to deplete the inks! I stopped buying the colors, and now only print in black.
Therefore, a hard copy of CLW on my printer would be missing the colors, which is the best feature of the printed version. I'll have to pass on this offer.

I'm in and I am sure my brother would too.

Interesting ...
Way back when, Larry Cunningham (remember him?) and I were wondering why CLW wasn't offered in digital format, as was SN. Larry knew John quite well but couldn't convince him that producing a .PDF version would be advantageous, especially as time went by. I guess the time has arrived. You were right on, Larry ...
BTW: Count me in, too.
-
Yes, sign me up !
-
The sad thing is relatively few responded so far from a base over 4000 members here
400+ subscribers plus advertising was not enough to make print version viable
30 or 50 e subscribers is not encouraging
I have been patiently waiting over two years now for Model Aviation and Carsten's plans service to resurrect... not encouraged with that either
-
I'd do it!

Well this PDF format is on me. John has no dog in the fight. Nicky (the current editor) was hired by me to continue on and I will post PDF format.

Thanks for taking this on Sparky. Add me to the list of subscribers.

Please add me to the list.
If back issues can be made available I would have no qualms about paying a bit extra to get them.

I strongly support an "On-Line" Version of Control Line World (CLW).
The PAMPA magazine and Control Line World, give us our only real steady source of control line articles.
With the exception of Bob Hunt's informative and anticipated columns and an occasional CL article or photographs, the AMA magazine gives us little.
It was a shame that the price increase that John had to put on the "print" version, doomed the magazine.
That said, we should work hard to keep CLW afloat. Sparky can take it on. However, we need to make a commitment to him that we will have a steady source of interesting and helpful articles.
Sparky, what kind of help will you need to make this a viable effort? Joe Colly, NVCL

I think near the first post Sparky said $25 a year for quarterly issues.
-
Thanks, now when do we subscribe? H^^
-
August I will take subs for the following year.
-
I'm REALLY glad that you are doing this, Sparky/Robert!
Any plans to eventually digitize the back issues? I don't want to be a pest, but that would be cool, and I am guessing the thought has already entered your mind. Please share your thoughts.
V/r,
Chris

That would be great, if ans when I can figure out why this computer will not burn discs for me again. Have almost all of the Stunt News on discs.
-
Perhaps a tab on the homepage or up top on the forum index that says CLW subscriptions that we can click and fill out come August? Like this one
http://www.stunthanger.com/images/stunthangarbanner.jpg.jpg only for subscriptions.

I'm in.

Yes indeed, I would subscribe. I would also like the ability to view back issues and I am prepared to pay a substantial amount for such a facility.
Regards,
Andrew.

The tail end of Marcus son National Champion made me remember this
Was there ever a decision to proceed or was the idea dropped?

The last issue came last week according to the wrapper. H^^

This idea will not be going forwards

Bummer.

Last night while sitting in my motel room I searched for some tools to make an e-mag. If there is still interest in this online format I will offer this option. If anyone would submit an article with pictures etc. I will process this material in a 50-page format to be read online and or printed at home in .PDF format. Anyone who submits an article will receive that issue free and others can purchase the issues in an as published basis for a 4.95 download fee. I can also offer a yearly subscription after I gt it up and running. Back issues to be free to download by paid subscribers. This can only work with everyone's help and effort
The introductory issue will be free to everyone. Submit all articles to hangarnews@stunhanger.com . Please make sure the submissions are free of copyright strikes.
This 50-page e-mag can be published as fast or as slow as it takes to gather the material. This by no means is meant to be in competition with Stunt News. This will encompass all aspects of control line.

I'm in - Yes, technically the costs killed CLW, but was really killed it was the loss of subscribers

Me myself and I?

It seems the some files might be too large so I am setting up a drop box account
-
I'll do a yearly subscription.
-
Sounds good to the old DOC Holliday. What I liked most was the biographies of my heroes in modelling.
-
Put me down for a subscription
Thanks

It seems the some files might be too large so I am setting up a drop box account
With my usual senility I am having trouble using the "drop Box" set-up. It got too complicated for this old guy. I will continue to send stuff as I did today, but I can't figure out how to use this system to see stuff. Doc might agrees with me that computer usage just gets way to complicated. Learn how to do something and then it gets updated to the point that only a 4th grade kid can understand how it works.
