Hi, Vince - any questions regarding CL World should be directed to Brodak or Tim Ehlen.

If you mean an online publication, I am not aware of anything like that at this time.

Zuriel: If you are a Brodak customer or pampa member you should receive a copy. I know for a fact that many people who ARE on the list have not received their copies - post office delivery may be slow.

If in doubt, request a copy by e-mail to:  <flyin@brodak.com>

As I've stated before, it's well worth the wait - everyone I know who has it is very pleased. Most have subscribed.  y1 y1

The next issue will be much larger and more comprehensive.   j1

Don't try and rush the USPS, it is like watching water boil, slow.  The wait is worth the magazine.  Later,  DOC Holliday

I received mine a couple of days ago. I called and tried to subscribe and they told me that I needed to mail it in.  The didn't say definitely "no way",but since it was no problem I mailed it in.

I hope everything works out good for them. It wouldn't hurt if everybody mentioned the magazine to whoever you buy stuff from either tell them you saw their ad in the magazine or that they should consider and ad if they don't have one.

Another thing that would help to insure a quality and interesting magazine would be if some of you guys or gals would consider submitting an article. There are several people here who are knowledgable enough to write an article.

Hi Everyone:

Yes, it seems the Pony Express was slow in getting everyone's copy of the magazine across the country. Some areas were slower than others.

You can now subscribe online at the Brodak website.  Click on this link to get to the subscribe page.  https://www.brodak.com/subscribe.php

Yes, we are interested in article ideas.  If you would like to submit an idea for an article, send it to me at tehlen@juno.com.  I will be happy to discuss your idea with you.

We still need someone to write about Racing for the magazine.  The pay is great and you get use of the company condo in Florida and use of the corporate jet.

The response to the magazine has been positive and supportive.  We are working on the January issue now.

Thanks for your help and support.

I'm guessing what he meant is the second we - anyone who dabbles in control line - should support the new magazine because the magazine is good for CL in general.

My 2cents worth:

I received a free copy of the magazine. I think I read every word in it and looked at every ad. I then subscribed. I don't think it is possible to evaluate any magazine by reading only one issue, especially the first issue. The first issue by necessity had a lot about the writers and an introduction to them. The subsequent issues will no doubt be somewhat different. Even if you do not choose to subscribe at this time you should beg, borrow or steal at least a few issues and read them, then you can really decide if it is worth the subscription price to you. Never in the last fifty years has there been a magazine devoted strictly to CL flying, that I am aware of. For that reason alone I think every CL flyer should at least give the magazine a fair evaluation.

I got my copy of CLW a few weeks ago. I was surprised to get it, being one of the 104. Like Robert, I found it to be a good first effort, and would subscribe if I had a place to store magazines, but it's filled, and I can't stand to heave 'em out. I'll see if I can borrow a copy to read every month, and might eventually subscribe. This has to be a good thing for CL, and I hope the magazine is a success. Getting it into the LHS will be  HB~> difficult enough, but until it gets into the newstands, book stores and variety stores, I'm afraid it won't save our  f~ bacon.  It would be nice to be wrong about that, tho.  :'(  Steve

FWIW.  I subscribed online yesterday.  When I clicked on "Subscribe", the page went blank.  No confirmation of my order/suscription.  I called by phone just to check and was told that my subscription went through just fine.  For some reason, the confirmation page just failed to open.  Computers, you gotta love em!

I got a copy of CL World in the mail today.

First impression-- The cover (I think) reminded me of a manufacturers catalog, as in the way its layed out. But for a premier issue, it got the point across after a brief moment.

As I read it, I realized that this was just the first issue and improvements will come in time. The articles were pretty well written for the most part. Hopefully, more advertisers will join in. Most publications won't survive off of circulations alone....

For it to become a world class publication, the paper stock will need to be stepped up to a higher grade glossier stock, as well as the use of  color printing. I've always heard that color separation fees is what kills most small mags from going color. If your gonna run with the big boys, you gotta have color! But of course, you gotta walk first.

These are just my first impressions. I am not knocking or bad-mouthing this fine first effort, by any means! It looks to me that the staffing and planning committees did a fine job of getting this first one out here, and I'm sure it will only get better. These things just don't happen overnight.

The bottom line is, this is the first publication that is Control Line specific, and is way overdue into the publics eye. Hopefully, an e-version of it will also be offered, creating revenue and increasing its circulation into society.

Overall, its a pretty good read. I fully support and applaud this effort, and will subscribe.
Richard
