Title: Control Line Advertising

Maybe if Control Line advertising looked like this, our hobby would see a resurgence.  LOL

Maybe if 12' sailplanes cost $24.95 it might spark things as well!

But my Mom's weekly budget for groceries, toiletries and TV tubes was only $20 back then...!!
How could anyone afford a $25 glider...?
I can vaguely remember when someone in our town took out an ad in the local newpaper announcing  when and where he planned on flying his RC plane.

We need more "Foxes" like that in MAN, it may be the inspiration newcomers would respond to.

That's from when Fox bought out Berkeley, I think.

Duke would have been better off if he stuck with bikini girls.

Or even perhaps a bit more illustrative...

Speaking of CL ads...I keep seeing BMJR ads in Model Aviation, and looked at the BMJR website a few days ago. But my memory bank (not always 100%) says that the owner passed away last year. Are they still in business and making kits, or are the relatives just selling off existing stock?

Could it be that ads were paid for in advance, and Model Aviation is just going to run the ads, whether the company is still in biz or not? IIRC, they even had a new kit on the "New Products" page...a scaled down E-36 Dixielander FF. I'd look to confirm this, but it's already in the round file.   D>K Steve

I wasn’t familiar so visited their website. They seem to have a large selection of kits.

They are advertising new additions for 2023.

Steve Helmick, you might be thinking of BJM Enterprises. Bill Mandakis passed away in 2020.

Brian Malin is BMJR.
I’ve not heard of his demise.

I'm sure you're right, Gary. What did BJM Ent. produce or sell?   ??? Steve
