Control line songs.
« on: April 08, 2008, 02:07:33 PM »
Got to laugh. In the Old Time Stunt section is a Larry Renger song about flying OTS based on "That olde time religion", well worth the look.  Earlier on here Mike Keville came up with a blues song about CL,  as did one of the Adamisin clan.  Can anyone out there come up with a great CL song using "Wild Thing" as the theme or any other great rock song?  Beats sanding all day. LL~ H^^

I play a little Harmonica, it's only 3 1/2 inches long. And I don't claim to play it well. Too busy building airplanes so don't have time to practice anything. AP^ AP^ AP^ AP^ HB~>

Must be sung in falsetto while wearing a WHITE vested suit...  8)

Well you can tell buy the way I use my walk
I'm a stuntin man - no time to talk
Engines LOUD and Judges warm
Been kicked by both, plus a storm

And now it's all right, it's O.K.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The CLPA effect on man.

Whether you're a brother
Or whether you're a mother,
You're tryin to fly, tryin to fly.
Feel the engine breakin'
And see the fuselage shakin'
And we're tryin to fly, tryin to fly.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
tryin to fly,
tryin to fly.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
tryin to fly!

If you have not sung the Stayin Alive based one to yourself ( at least in your head) you don't know what you are missing!  It will plant in your brain like a weed and keep running around for hours. I really lauged when I sang it out loud. Good thing I'm in a hotel where everyone pretends they don't hear / see anything weird.

Thanks D.A. you really brightened my mood after a day of 1 armed paper hanging!

Anyone remember the Stuka Stunt Blues? Tony Lang sold tapes several
years ago at a VSC. The guy was a great musician and tuned pianos for a living. It had
a very cool jazz arrangement, very well done, with an original tune. I need to
find and transcribe that tape.

Well I saved my pennies and I saved my dimes

When I would buy a brand new 049

Gimme-a 049

Giddy up 409

Gimme-a 049...

Nothing can catch her
Nothing can touch my 049
049 ooooo

When I take her to the field she really shines

She always turns in the fastest times

Larry,

You beat me to it. Tony Lang's "Stuka Stunt Blues" is actually a great piece of original music, by a very talented person.

An ode to wrapping lines

By, Doug "Sore Thumbs" Moon

Wrapping lines
Oh how I hate you ever more
My thumbs will be
Forever sore

I like the traditional look
A broken wrap of mine
A plane has never
Been took

As nice and neat as Kent Tysor's
My line wraps will never be
Maybe I will call him and order a set
Maybe two or maybe three

As I wrap these lines tonite
The future I can see
Wrapping my lines
For all eternity

Wrapping lines
Oh how I hate you ever more
My thumbs will be
Forever sore

How about to the tune of "That Old Time Rock & Roll"?

"Just take the old Twister off the wall....."
"We're gonna go out and have a ball......"

"And if I pile drive it in the ground....."
"I'm gonna cuss and throw the handle down ....."

refrain: "Just give that old time round and round..."
"Flying stunt till the sun goes down..."
"Don't need no R/C box to have my fun..."
"I'm just an old stunt son of a gun..."

2nd line: "If the Twister slams in the ground..."
"crank the Nobler & make that sweet 2-4 sound..."
"It's like real sweet music to my ears...'
"I don't get tired of it after all these years..."

refrain:"Just give that old time round & round..."
"Flying stunt till the sun goes down..."
"Don't need no R/C box to have my fun..."
"I'm just an old stunt son of a gun..."

3rd line: "Cars and trains and heli's look like fun..."
" but they can never be my number one..."
" none of them can ever have that feel..."
"none can ever have the same appeal..."

refrain:"Just give that old time round and round..."
"Flying stunt till the sun goes down..."
"Don't need no R/C box to have my fun..."
"I'm just an old stunt son of a gun..."

4th line:"I'm just an old stunt son of a gun..."
"Cranking props and having flying fun"
"Nothing else can ever have the same joy..."
"I don't really need no other toy..."

refrain:"Just give that old time round and round..."
"Flying stunt till the sun goes down..."
"Don't need no R/C box to have my fun..."
"I'm just and old stunt sun of a gun..."

Hi guys, I'm a little late but I thought I would join in the fun.
