I just might be a novice but I'm going to ask anyway; Is it possible to mount the lead outs outside a build up wing?

Yes Ed, it is possible to do so. What you need to be aware of is where, in relation to the vertical CG, your leadouts will wind up. Having to great a difference can cause the plane to bank either in or out in flight.

Most Bi-Planes are done like this. Check out Walter Umlands web site www.builtrightflyright.com and go to CR-32 photos it should show it.

In controline scale it is normal to place the leadouts outside the wing, for example my Cessna 152, which is a high wing plane, they are 2 1/2 inches below the wing, on my F/A-18 they are 1 inch above the tip.

Cool, that would make it much easier to adjust trim.
