Title: Control Line in Connecticut
Post by: Sheldon Hartwell on March 28, 2011, 06:10:56 PM
Hey guys,

Maybe someone has asked this before, but, are there any people that fly control line airplanes here in Central Connecticut ? I've read all of your feedbacks from all over the country and boy, I feel like I'm living in a BLACK HOLE. Any response will be GREATLY appreciated.

                                                                           Thanks,
                                                                               Sheldon

Are you close to Bristol?
There is a great CL guy in that area.

Sheldon, I checked the AMA website for clubs within 250 miles of Hartford and here is the list.  I didn't check all of them, but I found at least a couple before I went too far.  Obviously, the ones with RC in the club title were passed up.

I live in NH and it is impossible to find anyone here who flies C/L.  I share your frustration.  Good luck.

Hey guys,

I live here in the eastern part of Connecticut near Willimantic. It's funny, you tell people that you're into model airplanes and everyone assumes that its R/C. You tell them that its control line, and you get the deer-in the headlights look, ( what's that? ).
I was brought into this aspect of modeling due to my dad. He was in the hay-day of the Foxes, McCoys, Forsters, and Doolings.
That's why I'm trying to connect with people with the same interests. Thanks guys.

Sheldon,

Perry Rose is about 10 miles east of you, he's a pretty good pilot and he flies a lot.
He's a member here in SH.

Damian Sheehy:   I don't think the New England Stunt Team is listed in this web site that Dick mentions.

Can we fix that ?  Can you put in our club info  and contact info for others to reference ?

Will:  New England Stunt Team is listed all right, but the search filter isn't the best. . .     y1

Sheldon:
If you punch in 02052 for a zip NEST will appear in the number 3 spot.
It's a bit of a drive but we have several members from Connecticut who commute to fly at our site. If you are interested in improving your flying skills it's well worth the trip as we have many experienced pilots who are willing to help. Please send me a PM if you would like to know more about NEST and I will be happy to provide you with the details.

Damian
