Control line flyer in Wilson, NC ?
« on: October 19, 2017, 04:02:42 PM »
I'm in Apex, NC.  A few weeks ago, I received a phone message from someone in Wilson, NC about maybe getting together to fly control line.  I just tried to call today, but got a message that the phone could not be connected.  I don't have his name.  Couldn't find his info on PAMPA membership list.  Does anyone know a C/L flyer in Wilson, NC?

You were probably contacted by Al Takage. I may have misspelled his name. I fly C/l with Al here in Wilson NC. Al probably contacted you, but I know he changed phones recently and his number probably is different. Al has posted on here recently about attending the Huntersville event. We usually fly on weekends at the Wilson Industrial airport early in the mornings. He is allways trying to recruit new flyers. Al is a member of PAMPA. Hope this helps. I'll text him and tell him to check out this thread so he can get in touch with you.. Gene Poremba

Hi Dave,
Good to hear from you, I already emailed my phone number to you.
Look forward to meeting you. Gene Poremba and I fly CL at the Wilson Airport on weekends whenever we can.

I had planned to go to Huntersville Contest this weekend but I crashed my Smoothie and I'm still tweeking my Oriental which I think is nose heavy. Together with the contest being 440 miles round trip would make for a very long day. So I'll have to plan on it again in the springtime.

So, Gene and I are flying this weekend, weather permitting.
Will you be coming out?

Would like to fly with you, but scheduled to work with the kids at the orphanage this weekend. Out of town the following weekend.

Gene and I fixed the Oriental today, it needed an extra oz in the tail. Now it turns almost as good as a Smoothie.
It off to Huntersville we go!!
