Don't recall if they were CLC, but there were some kits out of Fruitland Florida that had terrific balsa.  Hand cut, so just okay in that department.

There was one other CLC, Control Line Central, based in Albuquerque. Jim Snelson was the proprieterer. He had a brick and mortar shop catering primarily to control line along with his mail order/internet customers. This was in the 2008--2012 timeframe. He handled Tom Morris merchandise, a full line of control line supplies, and briefly kitted Don Hutchinson's SBD. I lived in New Mexico at the time and we had a really good group of fliers and a club that met regularly at his shop. Miss those days.  8)

I built a CLC OTS Viking kit back in 2003 and still have the plane. It was a smooth build as all the parts fit nice and good balsa. :)

I believe that Tony deserves a lot of credit. He hand cut kits before there was laser cutting and kept a supply coming into the market. Agreed, some were a "challenge" but all had pretty good wood and could be assembled.

Yes - I have a couple of those kits and the balsa almost floats up out of the box when you take off the lid.  Back when these were available it was the nicest balsa I had ever seen!

I talked with Tony a few times at Brodak Fly In. I believe he worked with a partner for a time. (It was the Fly In, an intense week as many of you know, hard to remember the exact conversation.) Filling orders, cutting many parts by hand, could be overwhelming. Mistakes happened.

Hi Guy's;  I know of several people associated with Tony Drago's CLC endeavor. I don't recall
what they did except for Dave Braun; who drew many of the plans for CLC. Besides Dave Braun,
there was Morrie Leventhal and another guy whose name I cannot recall, but I believe he lived
in Moreno Valley, near Tony.  Oh yes; I loved those CLC kits.  D>K

Hi Tony. I ended up buying out Morrie Leventhal. 
 The other person was John Anderson of Galaxy model company. We only did one run of the Aries kits together. John had nothing to do with CLC. other then  he liked the Aries. So we did one run of the Aries kits. At the time John lived around the Pomona area. I lost track of John sometime after that.
 The first Buster kit CLC did was not that good of a kit at all. A very rough kit to say the least. The second run was a tad better with the one piece fuselage and no wing cut out and die cut doublers. The third run was the better kit. Fuselage's were pin routed by Lone Star and had the wing cut out. For the record on the Buster kits. The wing rib is not the same as the Goldberg Buster. The ribs were a tad smaller in height. Since Joe Bridi use mostly C/L air foils on a lot of his designs. I looked at his wing ribs on his Chaos designs and found a rib that was very close the the Buster.
