Control Horn Clips
« on: October 01, 2018, 06:07:03 PM »
Guys, I may have posted this method a couple of years ago? I've been working on completing the build of several models lately and Here's my method of making horn clips that assure perfectly aligned flaps and elevators provided the horn ends are parallel in the first place. I make mine from 1/8" or 3/32" sq. basswood strips depending on the wire size.  There is 1/32" plywood on each side. I use CA for the glue and if you sand the plywood lightly before gluing the bond is excellent. I also apply some 1/2 oz. fiberglass over the clip area for added durability. I use the two wire method of tapering the flaps after installing the clips.
