Title: Congratulations to Paul Walker from Proparc
Post by: proparc on July 19, 2012, 04:48:25 PM
This post is to congratulate Paul Walker on achieving high score during qualificatons at the 2012 Nats, with a plane equipped with vortex generators. Paul was right and I was wrong - they work period.

I am sure we will go on to rock and roll even further at the Nats with the ship.

There is no winner during qualifications.

However, congrats to Paul for flying very well!

I know, I should have said high score. I will change it.

Paul is running Vortex Generators I supplied him.  The system was developed over a long period of time.

Congratulations to Paul for Top Score.

Lets be clear here - Paul had won 10 US Nats without electric or VG's suffice to say he's a champion with any combination.

Yep,  now he has to fly against the other 19 qualifiers.   Hope they all have stunt weather the next two days. H^^

From intellicast:

Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph

I bet I an predict how this turns out! Good luck boys.

I can't recall that kind of wind  speed from the north, usually when it is ugly, it's from the west or southwest.

Thats true, but based on his qualifying scores, it looks to me like he's employing the "I'm going going to open a can of whip a@# right away" strategy.

Its more likely he went in thinking I want to do the best I can let the scores fall where they may.

I don't beleive any of the Top 20 guys "pace" themselves or work into an event.. I think with time at the site and farmilarity with the event during a set period of time people improve during the event.

This is different to saying " I think a 570 will get me in - I'l just fly that "

No-one is that good... stunt is far more reactive.

It looks like Mr. Paul has really gotten himself ready for this one.  I like all he guys in the Top 5, but I do wish Derek could have somehow gotten in.  A big congrats to Bill Rich, he ran the event last year and comes back to a Top 5.  Great job by all!

I was really pumped up and rooting for Derek also. He did such a fabulous job on his plane. I was sure he was headed for the top 5.

Well, I guess it will be my turn up at bat soon.
