Just got the word that Allen Buck won his first Intermediate contest at the King Orange. Anyone who knows him, knows he has worked his butt off for the win. So come and cheer him on. Way to go!

All Riiiiiiiiiiiiight Al. #^ <= (Wonder if he used his Vector 40/AT36 Rig ?) Rainman

Now Allen should move up to the Advance ranks. Now he will find out what fun is all about.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Its over already? Anybody else flying? DOC Holliday

Allen do not pay attention to John. If you move to Advanced I’ll have to wait for you to cycle through to Expert, before I can win one in advanced. Congratulations!

Allen,
Congrats! But one win is not a signal to move up!

Al.--- What Wardo said. y1 Just carve one notch in your handle and when you are a CONSISTENT Int. winner, then move up. H^^ Rainman

Congrats Allen, but as said above, one win does not a move up mean! Stick to intermediate until you're winning most of them and then move up. Consistency is the key.
Blessings,
Will

Hey! You mean wimped out this past October down there? It was FREEZING! y1 Death by hypothermia is not my idea of non-wimp studliness!
Seriously, congrats Alan, well done and I don't think ANYBODY has worked harder than Alan to get to this point. The best news is, it gets easier to fly better and better Alan! I wish I could have stayed till the trophies were handed out, but the wife was rapidly becoming enraged and we bailed right after Derek's flight in the fly-off.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. Yes, I have been trying to work hard to improve my flying. The Vector 40 is a ARC with silkspan and dope covering. The plane weighs 46 ounces with an LA 46 and flies with 62 foot lines eye to eye. It's a great flying airplane! Again, Thanks.
Alan ~ Still in SC..visiting daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids (desperately searching for a flying field!!)
PS Still tooo cold in PA to go home.

NICE GOING ALLEN!! If you move up to advanced then I won't have to compete against you in intermediate. (Just kidding). See you in Carmichaels next spring.

Nice job Allen. Remember the junk wars at Brodak. See you in May at Huntersville unless you come down sooner.

Allen and Diane are very special people to the flyers that get time to hang around with them . Diane will let Allen fly and compete while she shops , reads books and helps out around the field . We are lucky to have families like this and a congratulations goes to both of them for the win in Intermediate , since it was on Diane's Birthday too.

Way to go Allen, I knew you could do it! As Will said, a great guy, the kind of people you like to spend time with.
-
Way to go Allen! Maybe it was the chicken gizzards special at Granny's that had you reved up for Sunday? Hah! (wait a minute, maybe that was Watt...) LL~
Just kidding, good job.

Congrats Allen. I guess you'll be the man to chase at Brodak's. Looking forward to seeing you and D in Jun.

Eric,
Watt was the one that ordered Chicken Gizzards (or Livers) , Anyway it was the biggest plate of Gizzards I have ever seen served , looked liked something on a Buffet Bar .. Even Watt couldn't finish them off . So I helped him out ...

We are looking forward to Brodak's , I will tell him your message , We didn't have any gravy, but everything else was good.. Granny's does some good cooking , But no Livermush!!!
I believe what gave Allen the extra go power, he slipped one of Watt's Chicken Gizzards and had him a early morning Gizzard Biscuit before he flew...might have to try that , I need all the help I can get ...
