Who won this year ?
Pictures?
-
OK, so we all know that 20 points is the maximum.
So what would a decent, but not excellent-looking, model expect to score?

And of course it didn't take long to have some fun with the paint scheme...LOL

Thanks.
Congrats, Derek.

There were A LOT more ideas than just that, I actually talked several people out of some other things that were far worse, including myself!
Between the heart attack humor and "pride" references, it was a pretty wild NATs as far as pranks go.

I expect 100% next year. No more half ass pranks Brett!

In this case, you don't want that, you will have to take my word for it.

You are correct. This is my 4th Concours. Thank you!
This plane is the 4th edition of my Cutlass design. The Cutlass is based off of Randy Smith's Dreadnought. It has been updated to match the PA 65 and 13 inch 3 blade prop I use. The stab, and rudder have more area, to help compensate for the big engine and prop. The tail moment has been stretched 1/2" from the Dreadnought. The nose was also stretched 1/4" to allow more room for the tank. This Cutlass has a thicker wing than its 3 predecessors.
The weight is 66 oz. The plane is finished with Randolph and Sig dope. The final clear is Nasson 2 part urethane.

I'm not easily offended, but I'll take your word for it.
After a 1 point loss, you guys probably could have gotten away with anything. I was pretty numb for the next couple days.

It's all subjective, but there were very nice planes all the way back to the 16 point row.

Great Derek!
I've been following closely the Top 5 videos and let me tell you: Your performance was very, very impressive...ROCK SOLID FLIGHTS! (IMHO I must add)

Who was in the front row?
Any 20 pointers?
-
No 20 pointers this time around. Front row was Steve Millet, Howard Rush and Don Jenkins.

I seem to recall missing a NATs by 1.25 points on the last flight, and some wise-guy beat me at a Team Trials by 0.04 points. And I had 3 days alone in the car afterward to think about it. So I know what you mean.

Derek flew really good stunt. The flights I saw looked flawless.

Thank you Howard! I truly appreciate the compliment!

Yep. Stunt can be a cruel bitch.
Derek

Stunt is very mean. I have had 3 second places and one was less than 2 points IIRC. It's tough road for sure but it's 100% worth every minute! Congrats Derek on another great nats and concourse award. Personally I think the concourse may be the hardest thing to win and you have done it 4 times. It's time for a Bud Light!

Man, it looks like they were mouthing off to the teacher and needed to stand in the corner!

I'm familiar with Howard's ImpAct (the nearest one), of course, but who did which of the other two in the 19 row?
FWIW, I don't like the 'cubist' checkerboard on Howard's ImpAct, and wish he'd avoid doing it ever again. I did like the "waving" checkerboard from a few prior ImpActs. S?P Steve

Don's is the red and white. Steve's is the Blue and white.
