Two and a half years ago, I built a 1/2 A for my then 5 year old and put a Brodak beam-mounter on it. Her attention span for construction was minimal, as can be expected. After I had assembled it, I then drew it out on a piece of plain white paper appx. full size and told her that she could design the paint scheme. All I can say is, that was more work for me than building the thing. I used every color she picked and every curve or line she drew. This was personal after all! Being a girl, the primary color was PINK, then highlights of yellow, blue, and black. The final task was to name it and of course, put it on the plane. Thus was born "Pinky Yellow Dog", who will go down in memory bank history. I also built her a customized handle. Thank God, it did fly and the farthest she got was 5 laps solo, before I had to take back over. The hurricane got that one, but in two weeks I'm giving her a Baby Flite-Streak for her birthday and we will begin again. We will probably name this one "Yellow Pinky Dog".
