Duh, what do the colored squares mean under the authors name when posting???
-
Click on one to change the background color of the forum. I find the darker green one to be easiest on my eyes, which are 20-20, but dry and touchy about such stuff. I haven't found a way to make it stay the color I want, and I read Sparky's instructional on the subject. At least, what I understood from what he wrote didn't work. If you click on a color and don't like it, click on a different one! n~ Steve

I don't know, the squares under the author name used to be green. Something about how many posts you have, or maybe topics started??? But neither You, Steve, nor I have any squares.
And like Steve said, the ones at the top right are for your forum color preference. I like the default light blue.

I guess I don't recall ever seeing any squares under the author's name. The background color selection squares are (at least) in the same rectangle. I'm sorta curious to find out if there were some others, sometime, like perhaps before the software change? D>K Steve

Almost all FORUM software's have all sorts of USER notations over on the left under the User screen name
KARMA
Trade count
Thanks
Post count
Status
Supporter
Icons for contact
Age
Location
Many of there are social status crap that is mostly irrelevant to 80% but can be important to others
On some Forums there is a slight competition on WHO has the Highest post count
on others forums Thanks or KARMA is a sign of status
You might note--- the way Robert assigns Supporter Icon(s) that there are NO Squares for that member
I have no idea what the squares represent ---or how you get less or more squares ----but I suspect it is a time as member, or total post indication
Everybody right now in this thread is an Admiral....Harumph!....I prefer to be a CSM (Ret)
I wish we were back with an age and location on the left.... it makes a difference to me to know this simple info to help craft my responses

I agree, Fred. I like to know who and where - when allowed or not by the members I am addressing. I like that RC Groups tells you how many miles you are from everyone.
Just for the sake of reference, here's a picture of the now red(formerly green) squares n' bars. You're right, Doc has none of that in place of his supporter badge........... EDIT: but then neither does Steve, even though he does not have a Phantom Jet. Yiii! It's just to give us something to do on a rainy day.

Probably because I haven't sent any Benjamins to Sparky since I retired to a life of poverty on Social Security? The wife is very protective of
our her $$$. y1 Steve

So......, is it a secret? I dialed up everything I could find in the administrative sections that might have an explanation and came up empty.
Sparky? Anyone?

Lol, lots of talk, no info. I'll ask Sparky, hopefully he knows. I'll probably see him on our video hangout tomorrow night.
I want the optional age and location back under the avies. I like knowing a little about who I'm talking to. And where they fly. It would be cool to be able to list the elevation of our fields too.

I believe they designate your rank. I. E. Captain, Commander, Ensign etc. The supporter badge replaces them when you get one but your rank is still in print.
