A shocking picture.
« on: June 14, 2019, 05:10:43 PM »
I know we stray from stunt and models occasionally and I wanted to show you all what we are dealing with down here in the New Orleans area due to the flooding.

This Picture was taken by a fellow Civil Air Patrol member who was flying some cadets this past weekend.  The location is just South of the New Orleans Airport.  These are Alligators that have come through the spillway when they opened it for flood control.  We have alligators in the Mississippi River and in places we never had them before due to the flooding. Most of them came out of the bayous around us.

I live about a mile from the Mississippi River levy.  People walk, jog and ride bicycles on top of the levy and have encountered alligators that have been pushed into that area.  Also they are showing up in our neighborhoods.  Gets a little unnerving.

Larry, Alligator is white meat and is delicious.  I order it quite often when we go out to eat.

Don't know if it's legal down there but I'd be packin' heat every time I went outside!

I remember when alligators were on the endangered species list - one of the first species (along with the whooping crane). Looks like we over-achieved.

Looks like they're waiting to jump a freight train to Seattle. I wish youse guys luck with those darned things. We have similar problems with Mountain Lions. In my neighborhood, the Venisons are encroaching, and the Mountain Lions will be along soon enough.  D>K Steve

My wife is Cajun and she makes the best crawfish etouffee you ever put in your mouth.  Along with any other Cajun dish you could desire.

Where is all those Cajon boys when you need them?   Meat for the table and shoes for the feet.   Any thing tastes good if you are hungry and it is fixed right.  Guess I have watched too many shows about the gator hunting. D>K

Mike I am quite serious
I will pay your wife very well to make a crawfish etouffee and over night it to me
Locally these central Texas hacks could not make a good gumbo/etouffee with a recipe, extra chef and a life long existence on the Texas gulf coast....

I am serious I am retired and lived a lot of places.... did not realize when we retired here how much GOOD food would be missed.......one can only eat some many good pounds of excellent ribs or brisket.....

Seriously brother PM me and let's see If I can enjoy your wife's near perfect concoctions...
