Congratulations to Steve and Alan!  Well done.  Bob's looking pretty darn good!  Did he fly in Classic?

Thanks Ted, sorry but Bob did not fly in classic, but he said, "it felt like I won with 2 of my G. Noblers taking 1st and 2nd." He is a class act.

Blessings

Bob was as happy as could be that Allen and I did so well
with the Gieseke Noblers. I called him shortly after the results
were posted (he was up on the L-Pad coaching up Doug Moon
and Mike Scott, who finished 2nd and 13th in Open) and when
I told him the results he almost couldn't stop laughing he was
so happy.

That little G Nobler is a great flying plane. I've had two now and
they are both fantastic. No wonder he flew that thing forever.
I had been out practicing with Mike and Bob about 10 days before
the Nats and I told Bob "I'm taking the G Nobler to the Nats to
fly in Classic and I'm going to win". I can't believe I actually did it!

The air was dead calm for most of the day, with an occasional
breeze. During my first fly the air was so calm it may have actually
been a vacuum. Ha!!! Kenny Stevens saw the flight and said my plane
was doing things he didn't know a plane could do. I was in second
after the first round trailing Allen. In the second round Allen and I
both flew late and I had just a breath of air. Just enough to make
it manageable. I managed to put in a really good flight and moved past
Allen for the win. It was a lot of fun, and really cool that my Dad, brother and
Son were there to see it.

Great job Steve!  Are those UHP ARF Noblers?

Dick: Mine is the prototype of the UHP component kits. It was
a quick build, but I had to make some modifications and
adjustments to get it right. Allen's is one of the UHP laser cut
kits we used to (and hopefully will again) sell of the great
Gieseke Nobler.

Congradulations for pulling it off. Especially with your fan club there.  What are you using for power?  Forgot, congradulations to Alan for making you work for it. H^^

Doc: My GN has a Thunder(not Aero)Tiger 36 in it. Local flyer
Glen Reasor (who passed away recently) did a little retiming work
on it, and I added an AeroProducts NVA and RO Jett tube muffler.
A great motor that runs perfectly every time on 2.5% nitro.

I talked to Bob last night. Needless to say, he is still riding in the clouds with his airplanes at 1st and 2nd.
