Large airplane electric (let's talk electric)

What is required for an electric setup?  For a 2 stroke, you have an engine, fuel line, tank, etc.  You have to fill the tank from a fuel bottle between flights, etc

What are the basic pieces of an electric setup?  Motor, batteries, controller?

How do you set the engine up to change the batteries between flights? 

How do you recharge?

What ALL do you need to start for the WHOLE rig?  What is the rough cost?

Email or PM a message to Mike Palko. His new electric Mustang is a Bob Hunt design scaled for a PA61. Palko rode it to an 8th place finish at this past NATs. Besides, Palko's setups are straight forward and work. Reliable without mumbo-jumbo. Even the not too bright (a typical Philly Flyer) manage to plug and play (and fly) when Mike Palko details a system. Too bad I hate electric. It works.

Hi Randy,

I totally agree with you. I too miss the smell of burning Castor oil and nitro. There are sound systems available for ECL that can duplicate the engine noise, but as yet we do not have the spray system we need.

Please let us know when you develop one for us. ..... If possible, please have it spray out the back behind the RD. We don't want to go backward and have to do all that messy clean up, we just want the smell that reminds us of our misspent youth!
