Hi All
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any plans available for a control line version of the Yak 54, Extra 300 or Edge 540
I wouldn't mind building one of these for my ST46.
Cheers

As popular as these are on the RC side one would sure think a CL version would be available.. Closest I have seen is the TF Score..

Warren,
Tom Dixon has CL plans for many of the modern Scale Aerobatic planes. He has a very large list of CL plans. After you read all the plans on this page, you may want to go to the right side and find the links to his other pages for Old time, and Classic plans. I have several of his plans, they are all very good. I like his 300L. It is KIS and looks easy to build, my kind of plane. ;-)
Tom is easy to deal with, and his prices are very reasonable. You may want to read his update on his home page, to help you with his new ordering/shipping options.

Just for the record, Adkisson's Lazer is one of the better perfoming designs out there. Gid was a formadable competitor with his. He outscored Several National Champions on at least one occassion at a West Coast contest. Bob Whitely had success with his version built from the Adkisson plans. Whitely placed 2nd at the 86 Nats and a respectable 7th in the monster winds of Lincoln Nats in 1987. The airplane needs plenty of power and the weight needs to kept within reasonable limits. The construction article was published in the Jun 88 issue of Model Aviation.

Hi,
I currently fly A Gid Adkisson Laser design I built,. You could easily take the plans and make it an Extra.
Yes it can be heavy and does need lots of power. I have a Saito.72 in my current one which is getting old and
heavier. It has also been flown with a PA .65 RE muffler with great results, RO Jett .76 RE too.
The key is it is so large it needs to have a 14" prop of some sort. Gid flew his at 80oz and T&L ST .60
with a thinned Top Flite 14x6 paddle blade. The key is to thin the blades of the prop. A Bolly 14x6 or the
likes will work too. Email me I would be glad to help in any way, I may have some extra plans too!(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j262/kickercoach12/Laser200.jpg)

G'day folks,
I have been looking for a large cheek-cowled design for a while for a PAW .49 Deisel that I aquired recently.
I've heard that the output is similar to say a 70-72 sized 4 stroke and therefore I'm looking at building a fairly large 60 sized plane for it that would lend itself to a side mounted engine.
If the PAW can spin a 14x5 at around the 8500 rpm mark would it be enough for the lazer?
Other options include Bob Whitelys (sp?) shoestring kit from Rsm but I would prefer to scratch build something.
I thought about drawing up an f1 style plane, but would prefer to go with a proven design to ensure that it's more likely to be competitive.
P.S sorry Waz for poaching your thread!
Cheers, Rob.

Guys,
That's the kind of plane I'm after but I need it for a ST46 or LA46 - probably about the size of a Cardinal ie 580 sq inches

The Engineering Print shop I deal with can reduce these any percentage I want. You tell me how much you want to reduce by and I can get it done. You do the math, I get the print for you.

Do what I do. Email Pat Johnston and suggest that he design one. It's worked so far! LL~ Steve
