Title: C/l guy foam wings!
Post by: Will Hinton on March 07, 2007, 05:27:30 PM
Hi Y'all,
I've been cutting my own foam wings, lost foam setups, and LE and fuse part mold bucks ever since the late 1960's.  I may never cut another foam wing again!  Due to a major goof on my part I decided I didn't have the time to spend cutting an new Ephesian lost foam set or even just the foam wings so I contacted Crist Rigotti for a set.  He had to make new templates as the "Big E" is a bit larger than most.  The wings arrived today, just after he cut them last weekend, and they are gorgeous.  The coring is so very precise, a real mark of good work, and the things are light and true!  I recommend Crist's wings to anybody - and his prices are so very in line with today's costs that I don't see a better buy anywhere.
Thanks Buddy!

Hopefully all this great press for Crist will keep him super busy building foam wings. That means he will have less time to practice flying and I just might have a shot at beating him this year. Or not n~.

Hey Dennis,
I know the feeling!!  Last time I beat him was in intermediate, since then he's been really mean to me!  (Just kiddin'!)

Best start practicing dudes.  I rubbed out and waxed the Agenda 75 this week and it's a beaut!

Andy,
Yes, I have a website.  See it by my name.

Last fall Crist sent three sets of Scimitar 520 wings to upstate NY- the cores were a work of art- three aircraft now nearing completion - bare wood all sealed up and prepping for final finishing- warm weather coming soon (we hope). I'd post a photo but can't figure out how.

Hi Lyle,

If your pictures are in your computer, then all you have to do is click on "Additional Options..." just below the message block of your reply.  The click on "Browse" which will take you to your computer.  Open the picture and submit.

I'd post a photo but can't figure out how.

If you can email me the pictures I can post them. If they are photographs you can send them to me and I will scan them and post the pictures and return the photos to you. Contact me by PM or email.

My Winter project Scimitar 520 from Flying Models. Foam wings by Crist + lots of mentoring from Camp Hummel. Three of these in final stages ready for final sanding and finishing. Using B 40's up front.

That Scimitar looks great.  Now if each and evry one of us orders some wing cores and keep him so busy to practice we might have a chance this year.  Later, DOC Holliday
