I know this is a duplication, but I think more people read this section than read the events calander.
The club at Markam Park, in the city of Sunrise, has decided to throw an R/C Jamboree. Today they told me that they would like to include C/L as part of the Jamboree. It would only be a fun fly, no prizes, but this could be important to us because the C/L people are trying to get the park to pave a circle for C/L use. The chances look good, but a good turnout would go a long way to "cement" the deal. Currently, it is a grass circle, with a concrete center pad, and a concrete takeoff strip. Half the landings are noseovers. Dates are June 22, 23, and 24. More details later.

The name of the club is the Markham Park Pilots Association. The contact is Doug Jones, associate VP, district 5. So far it's still just a fun fly.

Garf; Here's hoping you have a good turn out. This part of the country it is the SIG Mfg contest and/or Brodaks. DOC Holliday

I will attempt to post the flier as a PDF file.

Nobody will be there. Too bad. Everybody will be at the Stuntathon at Thun Field in Puyallup, WA.

What's with the wet blanket Howard? Looks like opposite corners of the country to me! y1
Lots going on that weekend all over the country - hope they all have great turnouts! ;D

If I were in town I'd show up even without a plane. (I could always launch) Anywho, knowing the complete lack of CL in south Florida, I figure turn out to be nearly non existant. Really weird when you consider Florida is one of the few places in the US where you can fly year round , with few exceptions.

Hey I know of at least 5 guys in the southern half of Florida. DOC Holliday

I'm trying to kick start C/L in Miami, but it's a little like trying to kick start a Harley.

The fly in at Markham Park is this coming weekend. I am going to try to be there both saturday and sunday. I'm hoping for a good turnout. I also hope the weather cooperates. As always, time will tell.

Hi Phil,
Orestes Perdomo and his merry band of stunt fliers are listed as being in the Miami area. (??) They even travel to Huntersville, NC quite often for our meets.
-
I haven't seen the Cuban contingent for a while. I heard Perdomo retired and had no money for flying. I don't really know.
