This is a “view” of the “pond”  I am flying a “Willams” Ringmaster on floats.  Long story about building that pond.  We used it from 1998 to 2001 and had 18 airplanes built and flown on this pond.  This was the first “pond” built since the “FAST” club in Los Angeles in the ‘50”’s.

 this was taken the first year (98’) that I used the “pond” at the airport. This “pond” was scraped out and filled from a water hydrant nearby. It was 200 degrees on 60’ center and it was 15’ wide.  Grant Hiestand with the Boing  (mmm, can’t  remember plane number !!)  It was electric.  Fred Cronenwett with my  MC 72 by Musciano.  It is rather small and I had a .15 diesel.

Apparently the ponds long been filled in . DONT try it in SALT WATER unless its disposeable or gavanised & leak proof .

I thought that might be the Roseburg Airport -- the hills looked familiar.  I never got to try it -- they lost the pond to a renovation, which is why the rest of it doesn't look right.

Grant Hiestand was the pilot of that model and yes it was at the NW Regionals at the Roseburg Airport. 180 degrees of water. We few lots of different models from the water.

Dave Schrum was key it making it happen. I flew my 80" piper cub on floats. I also flew a 41" span F7F tigercat on floats, my 80" camera plane on floats.
