Well today, actually this evening I went to the flying field to do some flying/testing.
First up was the Cotton Candy with an OS FP35. Started first flight with normal setup of Windsor 11.5 X 4.5 prop. Then I put the new Master Airscrew 10-4 three blade on. After setting the needle to a wet 2 stroke I started putting in full patterns. The engine had a different sound to it, or maybe it was the prop. After several flights(about 3 full patterns). I went back original prop. Will be trying the 3 blade on other engine/plane combos I have. Maybe when the weather cools off a bit I may try the three blade on the Cotton Candy again.
Next up was the Skyray I have with an OS FS28 Surpass on it. Bob Reeves sent me a prop for it. Of course my tach decided not to work, dead battery. First flight I must have been a little lean as it was cutting out while doing loops. After opening the needle a couple of clicks it never missed a beat. I had tried about a half dozen props on this bird before with undesirable results. The prop Bob sent me is a wood 9-7. I just need to quit over controlling now. Will take care of that with the new Tom Morris handle i picked up at the NATS.
Anyway I had a good session at the field and am pleased. I want to thank Bruce and Bob for their help. Have fun, DOC Holliday
