The Christmas Drawing prize was wating for me when I got home from my night job. Most welcome surprise.
I am still in awe of the fine gift and have been looking at the Ares kit plans with much interest as I have never built a I-beam plane.
A very fine kit indeed, now to order a tape from Bob Hunt on "How to Build I-beam Planes".
The engine was also in the box and is a real piece of craftsmanship from Randy. This to will be a learning experience since I have never had a rear exhaust engine or one with a true venturi. I will be contacting Randy to get some information about the engine and order things to make the engine run as best as possible
Included was another learning project as there was a package of Sig silk for covering, I never have covered a wing with it and am looking forward to that experience also.
Looks like my job is about to start.
A surprise call from Sparky topped off my luck of winning the drawing. Sparky took the time to call and explain what to expect and we talked controline for awhile. A very enjoyable and a very educational conversation. I now know that this forum is in very good hands of a very good man.
I would like to thank Sparky again and everyone involved in this
great opportunity for me to experience what lies ahead in building and flying the great set up.
