Looks really good! Just curious, how many feet (yards) of tape did you use taping that paint scheme off?  /DV

I started with  a Vector wing modified for wing mounted landing gear. a bit longer fuselage and bigger Tail (25%) A lot of aft side area (Ted always said that Brett's plane looked like three billboards flying in formation) Well if three is good four is better, hence the sub-rudder.
For added flash, I stole Teds cowl and bottom air scoop design.
So you could basically say that its a bashed Vector

Ok, I cant lie to you guys anymore.
The fact is, without the motor, pipe, fuel tank and wheels, the plane actually floats in the air like a balloon.

Polyspan? Dope or acrylic lacquer?

The plane is covered with K&S silkspan . Medium over open bays and light over every thing else.
Colors are Sig dope and the clear is Certified dope.
As it sits now awaiting clear, with no motor, pipe, tank, wheels or prop it weighs in a 41 oz.

Now if the air would dry up a little....

Hope to see you then.

Larry,

I see you're continuing a long line of planes that look too good and fly too well.

   What happened to CM #1 & 2 ?

Rex

PS : How do I get plans for the Eindecker ?

Checkmates 1&2 are alive and well and are now in the care of Brian Baker(of the Fabulous Baker Boyz).

Brian stripped #2 to bare wood and refinished it last year.  In doing so the plane is now four ounces lighter and with a bigger motor, A RO Jett .65 compared to the Jett.51, it flys as good as ever.

I started color sanding #3 tonight and hope to have it in the air Sunday.

Sorry Rex no plans, It started with an SV-11 wing and aerodynamic numbers. I used Tom Morris take apart wing hardware, and just kind of sketched it along.
It didn't really fly that well. I thought that with the four stroke motor, I could build it with a very short nose, like the full size Eindecker. Problem was. The nose was to short, and it took way too much weight to balance her.
