I am trying to make up my mind. Should I do 6 inch checkerboard floor or 12 inch squares?

Regular rectangular tilings are so boring. Why not go with an aperiodic tiling?

What size are your checkers?

the tile is 12x12 with 4 6 inch squares on each one

What ever's easier for you to see things you drop on the floor. I must have 2 dozen nuts and bolts stuck somewhere in my rug.

I'd go with the bigger 12" squares. Now that's just me.

Shop floor, kitchen floor, bathroom floor? ??? Steve

I don't want my floor to be that busy. Makes the room look smaller.

I agree. The larger squares will look better.

What about the floating interlocking tile?
Easy to lay, repair and move. A little more $$ but bullet proof. You can use any patter you want.

I am poor. I opted for the .38 pter square foot tile. Almost finished. I will show a movie when I am done later tonight.

I wanted the bigger squares but the cheap tile I got the patter is not perfect so I used them as is and used the 6 inch pattern

Pick something that lets you see small parts that have fallen on the floor. Trust me, I know from sad experience! mw~
