Our club has been doing community activities for many years which helps keep our flying site.

We have been attending the maker fair for several years now.  We usually fly indoor control line demos this time (2022)  the space did not allow it.  But we had a visit from Randy Gibson our district VP.

A few of our club members were quick to write him off as just another RC guy.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  He aw very supportive of our effort and spent almost 2 hours answering questions.

He drove over from Michigan for this event in Milwaukee.

It was really great to get some recognition and to prove that the AMA isn't about just RC its about people and clubs making stuff happen.

Dave S.,

Glad you had a positive experience when meeting with your District VP. It was interesting hearing of your club's outreach efforts!

Our club also had a good response from our last District VP (Larry Tougas) and one of his Associate VPs, Dave Meriweather. They came out to the field and we discussed issues we had with an FAA closure and the event that kicked off the FAA LOA process. Lots of questions and some answers. And, Larry got a short flight on a control line plane. Said he hadn't flown one in years. He did fine. We should have set him up with a stunter, not a trainer....

Also in this issue are some nice pictures of a District 10 control line contest in Las Vegas put on by Steve McBride. Two of the photos show Steve Harris and Gary Akers with their planes. They are both Valley Circle Burners members.
