Sticky Lines in Rain and Damp, Cold Weather
« on: March 04, 2008, 07:55:43 PM »
From Allen Brickhaus:

"All the 1/2A racers crashed at the Ice-O-Lated contest at Buder Park in St. Louis.  Their lines all "stuck" and all the racers "bit the dust".  I wanted to pass on some information made available from Joe Reinhard and passed on by Charlie Reeves.  Joe, Charlie and I have been successful in using "NO TOUCH, RAIN SHIELD" to clean the lines and lubricate them during flights.  DO NOT USE RAIN-X.  Some reports have that Joe Reinhard has been seen at a raining contest, actually spraying down his solid lines with NO TOUCH, RAIN SHEILD as he walked out to the actual flight.  NO TOUCH, RAIN SHIELD also works on braided lines.  We find it at hardware stores and some car/truck supply retail stores."
