CFC Graphics! Paint Mask announcement!!
Yes, Yes and Yes! I do paint masks!!
I was asked and the truth is, I've been providing paint mask to modelers for over 15 years.
Sorry I haven't mentioned it sooner.
I make all kinds of paint "masks."
Any graphic, lettering or line art design, simple or more complicated ones, can be made and provided in mask material, for those modelers who elect to use paint. Sprayed or brushed. The material I provide is matt yellow or matt white.
For graphics requiring multi-colors, layers are provided for each color. I can work from either quick hand drawings or photos, makes no difference.
For those that aren't familiar with paint mask materials and their uses, I do expect to do a paint mask Thread sometime in late January. I should have The NEW AMERICAN ready for paint by then and will photograph the process. Nothing overly spectacular on The NEW AMERICAN, which is interesting because, great results can be had with simple masking methods. This model will be an example of that.
KISS. "Keep it simple stupid." This sign is over my bench. I pay absolutely no attention to it.

As an example, I scratch built and painted this model in the late 80's. The Avenger. Looks complicated, but there's nothing complicated there at all. Paint masks were used only for the British flag, yes, the flag is pink, the rest of the paint tasks were masked off using plastic automotive trim tape and newspaper. Nothing difficult about that. The "Avenger" lettering is Gold Leaf and this was brush painted and applied by hand.
Sure, I could have made a mask to pull the lettering off, but I was a sign painter for 40 years. Did all kinds of lettering, art, gold leaf, airbrush and painted graphics. So, by hand was easiest for me, but for someone that doesn't have hand lettering skills, a mask can achieve the absolute same results.
The Avenger, all automotive paint products beginning to end. Gold Leaf, One Shot lettering enamel, with a clear coat. Might take a bit of time to finish and complete, but nothing all that difficult to pull off.
I'll answer any questions you may have about paint masks.
OH, one last thing. For the "do it your-selfer," I'll even tell you how to get masking and vinyl material for free. Just walk in any local Sigh Shop and ask for scraps. You would be surprised as to what gets thrown away!
