CENTRAL FLORIDA FLY-IN, LAKE WALES
« on: September 20, 2009, 07:02:48 PM »
I have not advertized the CENTRAL FLORIDA FLY-IN as of yet because a very large piece of our flying field has been sold to Polk County for the future construction a a fire station.  At this time we don't know when we will be kicked off the property.  I am hoping that we will have the use of the property for the next couple of months at least but that is not cast in stone.  I will keep you all posted and if we can hold the event I'll try to give enough notice for yoou to make plans.  The date would be the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 28th if it happens.

Phil,
Understand!
I, and the rest of us here on the coast, will leave "your date" open and will be there even if you give us one days notice!

Boy Phil - between cows and fire trucks you will need a control tower out there to keep the traffic flowing!

I am supposed to be in town that weekend- so I plan to attend ( the wife may have other plans- but mine are to go fllying!)  Keep us posted, my guess is that since it is the county gov't doing the deal you guys should have a while - I've been requesting Orange County to fix a pothole in our developement for 3 years and that's not done, a fire station should take even longer than that.
