Good news! My local club here in Lake Wales, FL has approved welcoming as guests, C/L Stunt flyers to come for an informal non-competitive fun fly at our field. From the response I have received by email, and on both popular C/L forums, it looks as though the majority of folks are in favor of the Saturday following Thanksgiving day which is November 25th. That date is great with me and avoids any other events at our field. I might mention at this point that our field is in jeopardy but we are assured that we will be there thru the end of this year.
I would like to say at the start, that I am not an accomplished C/L flyer and have never hosted a C/L meet of any kind.... so you will have to bear with my unfamiliarity with any protocol related to stunt. I am depending on the guys who come to help me keep things straight. I hatched this idea because I know that there are quite a few flyers who are friends on both Florida coasts, but to travel the distance from coast to coast, for a get together is impractical for them. So thought that because Lake Wales is located almost exactly midway between Tampa and Vero Beach on SR60, that it would present an opportunity for folks to meet with a less taxing drive. Also on a personal note, it would give me a chance to meet some of the folks I see on the forums, see in Stunt News, and see some really nice planes. My club(RC/CL) and I are looking forward to having you all as guests.
Our field normally maintains one 160' grass circle and we will be mowing another 140' circle this week. We can accommodate primitive RV parking. There is a good country restaurant within a couple of miles of the field and more in Lake Wales. We may fry up some burgers if I can get some volunteers. The field is located 11 miles east of the junction of US27 and SR60. It is right on the highway and marked by a sign "George Breen Flying Field". For a map go to

If any of you have any suggestions, get them to me. I would appreciate it very much if each of you who plan to attend would email me at
pjcoopys@aol.com to let me know so that I can plan for you and any other flyers coming with you. I'm in the PAMPA book.
More Later,
Phil
