E powered models were flown by Tom Morris, Ty Marcucci and Steven Drake. Steve's model was a Nobler ARF, Ty flew a CavElier.
Here is a shot of Tom's E powered P61 Black Widow; when he gets it flight trimmed it will be a contender in the Warbird event.

Jim, I sure did enjoy you all puttin' on that contest, and it was real good to see old friends again and to make new ones.
That flyin' site is one of the nicest that I have ever seen, and the grass was cut exreemly well..
Keep goin', I plan to be back again

Jim and his crew put on another great contest. H^^
Put Clanton on your schedule next year for a fun time. ~>

Many thanks to Dave Wenzel from Clyo, GA, and Gil Causey, Doug Patterson and Brent Rogillio from Baton Rouge, LA for coming to Clanton to judge and help make the event a success.
Great guys and good friends make it worthwhile!

Thanks for the great pictures. A big conrrats to Jim Lych for the pilot's choice and to Tom Morris for the beautiful warbird.

A wonderful club and a well run contest. Check out the fruit and nuts at Durbin Farms at exit 205 on I-56 in Alabama.

Thanks, to all for the wonderful time I had at the Clanton contest. Jim and others hosted a event we all could be proud of. Just the blessing God gives us on flying our airplanes he also used Jim others for us to experience the love from others about the hobby. Thanks again sure to try see ya again.

That field looks awesome! I would love to fly there sometime.

Doug,
After a long Px conversation with Doug Patterson yesterday, we may be making some additions that will make the long drive worthwhile for you Texicans.
There are only a handful of local CLPA flyers, but we have talked about adding a Nostalgia Carrier event to our contest. We have had an ultra-simple arresting system for the last two years; Ty Marcucci actually made an arrested landing on it this year, with one of Joe Just's Wildcats.
We are willing to set up a simple arresting system that meets AMA size specs if a few flyers will actually use it. We have the room and need to make better use of it.
Anyone interested in such an opportunity, please contact me and we can make it happen.
Regards,
Jim

I just might go for that. Chatanooga is only a 12 hour drive and Clanton can't much further to go and play with carrier planes.
-
John, from an old truck driver, Memphis to Birmingham via US78 and the distance to Clanton would be abouy yhe same. Nick

Ed Shearer from Hammond, La. is an old Carrier flyer; he would probably be interested in that..

Allan,
I spent about an hour talking to Ed at the B.R. meet last year; a great guy with lots of Carrier knowledge in his head. Hope he is there this time........
