Not just a topic, but one of the most interesting web sites you can visit (collectair.com). With quotes like "dreaming made the balsawood sizzle", "good, wholesome, educational leisure-time activities strenghten the fabric of our society", and "four of the world's greatest pleasures". y1  One of the most interesting parts of this site is the history of kit production. Hence, some of the above quotes. Check out the DYO-X1000 (1957) aluminum U-control "freak of the 50's" powered by the K&B Allyn Sky Fury .049. Also much history of "cottage shops", the Muncie displays, and just about anything else that involved the evolution of model airplanes. Don't attempt to read this in one sitting unless you are retired and bored!
