I have seen worse and it wasn't even four blade props.  Did not have a camera to record the results.  DOC Holliday

Speaking of "The tighten ups...
HEY RUDDERLESS...DO YOU REMEMBER THE GUY WITH THE 3 PIECE SUIT AND LONG TIE! AT THE FIRST SPOKANE INTERNATS????

What a HORRIFIC SOUND FROM BOTH HE AND HIS SNARLING 60 POWERED PLANE...THAT SNAGGED AND ROLLED UP TOWARD HIS  CHOPS..AFTER TIE THAT GOT SUCKED INTO THE PROP.
I almost lost my cookies....as that snarling 60 started winding up his tie...without hardly slowing down.

Do you remember who the helper was...THAT KEPT THE PILOTS THROAT FROM BEING SLICED!! JUST INCHES FROM HIS FACE, as his beautiful RC pattern started it flight path...toward his left....jugler vein.

THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A REAL SPLATTER SCENE..IF THE HELPER HAD NOT GRABBED THAT SNARLING BEAST WITH HIS WIPING RAG!...ENGINE AND ALL!
It goes without saying...he reeeeeeeeeeeeeeallly made some impression points that day, huh?
HEY I MUST BE REALLLY LOOSIN' IT???

COME ON GRUNTS....FIX-ATE ME WITH SOME MORE SLICE-N-DICE STUNTGRUNT PHOTOS...AND STORIES. :X n~ n1

Are these bloodbath stories really necessary? I would think they would be counterproductive.  I would just as soon forget my close encounters with props.

Boy, I agree completely...let's not start a thread of bloodletting pictures.  The crashes are enough.  There's some pretty horrible war stories (and pics) that're gonna get posted if this turns into a competition, "one-upmanship" thing.

Where's Robert when you need him?

Darrell, Way to change the subject, it was needed, but also a startling remineder like that is very effective for a saftey reminder. More so than a short "Watch out for them props".
I know Robert is very saftey minded, may be why he did not interfere.
Nuff said, now about that DC-7.

Hey Minnie-man and Garf.."The Barf!:)!!!!
YES! I KNOW PROP WAR STORIES ARE HELL...AGAIN! WE ARE ALL ADULT ENOUGH (hopefully) TO UNDERSTAND THAT "SAFETY IS NO LAUGHING MATTER...EXCEPT THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROP-WHACKIN POST..WAS JUST THAT...
TO BE AWARE AND STAY AWARE....OF EXACTLY WHERE AND WHAT THAT PROP IS DOING AT ALL TIMES.

It has always AMAZED ME...after all these years of SEEING NEEDLESS LOSS OF BLOOD N GUTS...that so many GRUNTS...seem to get so careless around those virtually LETAL HIGH TECH SPACE AGE PROPS. (However, when I think back..those little bittie Spitzy .049 props were also pretty acheee-breaky too?)

Just a short time ago...I heard that a modeler was adjusting the needle valve, when he accidently bumped his fueling bulb----WHICH THEN ROLLED AND SUCKED FORWARD INTO THE PATH OF THAT BIG 1/4 SCALE BI-PLANE'S HI TECH CARBON PROP.
Thanks be to GOD!
As you know...offers a hedge of protection for FOOLS-STUNTGRUNTS-N- SEAGULLS-N-DOGS!
That modeler was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky that  carbon prop..blew that filler bottle into a killgillion pieces of plastic...(without hitting anyone.)
That careless modeler was also lucky that he was wearing sunglasses, and had a bottle of drinking water to help flush some of that fuel out of his right eye-ball.

BOTTOM LINE:
SLOW DOWN..THINK!!! Not only check out what and where all your modeling start up crap is located.
Watch or check for  LOOSE  SHIRT SLEEVES...LONG HAIR......or any items that can find their way into that snarling-snappin' 2-3 or 4 blade prop.
Be aware of your surroundings for wandering pets-kids-n' old demented stuntgrunts that may be in your flight path or IN LINE WITH THAT PROP!

 STAY ALERT! U LERTS?

Always be aware of that take off path...for anything that can be a risk to that spinning prop or model.

ALWAYS CHECK ANYTHING THAT MIGHT BE IN THE CIRCLE FLIGHT PATH.
(Hey Joe DILL!!! REMEMBER THAT SEA-GULL THAT FLEW THROUGH YOUR .018's and lost  a few feathers after being grazed by that Crusader of yours.
Uhh Joe...bye the way....that old light pole  with that Sig red paint rubmark is gone when I hit with that old Red  out board wingtip Crusader of yours, that U so foolishly let me test fly that one bright summa' day!
Especially when everyone and his brotha' in balsa, knows that I never could---judge distance or keep from wandering all over the place. In all those years of stunt flying...I never seem to rid myself of that DANGEROUS HABIT OF WANDERING AWAY FROM THAT ALL IMPORTANT...CENTER CIRCLE!!!

ALWAYS PACK ALONG...SOME OF THOSE LITTLE NEON SAFETY CONES THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO MARK YOUR FLIGHT CIRCLE...(ALLOWING EXTRA ROOM...especially if you are a WANDERERERERERE, LIKE ME.

Sharing BLOODY SPLATTER WAR STORIES...I knew for certain, would truly be WAAAAY TO MUCH for some folks..who just "MAN-UP"OR WOMAN-UP!"but  a reality check needs to be addressed. If this is too XXXRATED!! FREEDOM OF CHOICE is up to you, whether or not U choose to CLICK YER MOUSEEE' ON THIS POST?

SAFETY IS NO ACCIDENT..."NO MISTAKES...JUST LESSONS TO BE LEARNED!"

It wont bite but it will burn.  The blisters are healing nicely or at least as well as can be expected.  Next time bring the proper priming bottle so I don't dribble raw fuel all over the place.  It has a nasty habit of catching on fire.  We did make some fast noise for Lenny though.
