  Hi Chris;
   I know I have seen this photo before in a book, or maybe a magazine article. Might it have been a magazine cover??? Let me know and I'll start digging in my archives.

   If you are ever in St. Louis again for a long lay over or something, we gotta talk about Knight Twisters!
   Type at you later,
    Dan McEntee

Hi Dan,
Bob Heywood had been curious about some racers in the past and the original Cassutt was one of them. He wanted color info on it.
Sure man, we've only done turns through St. Louis. Hopefully soon, been too long. KT news will take all night!

    I'm thinking I saw something in an old Air Progress on the Cassutt, the original one. Might have been the issue with the coverage of the air races they had out at Spirit Of St. Louis Airport back in 1970 or '71. Will have to check that out. The registration number is what is sticking out in my mind.

   I had been receiving the daily email from the biplane forum and read some about the KT in those,  but not all of them. Bruce Shipp had posted on here about something on that site, so I signed up to read that. I had to drop it when they went to a paid format  for a membership. On of those deals where I wouldn't want to belong too an organization that would have some one like me as a member!

  Take care, Hi to Laura and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
    Dan

Chris,

Yes, I have that photo. Thank you for posting.

My copy was published in the April 1998 issue of Flight Journal.

At one of the 1970's Burke-Lakefront races a buddy & I bluffed our way past the gate keepers and spent the day watching the races from the shade of a hangar building shared by Bill Falck and Roy Berry. Both were very cordial and didn't rat us out. Roy was flying the blue Cosmic Wind at the time. Plenty of opportunity to study both planes.

Great stuff.

Rivets was only in two air to air shots. Johnny Thomson in Cassutt.
