saturday when I put the doublers on the fuse I oppsed and put them on the wrong sides. I cut the aera out where the engine goes and will add at least 1/4 inch of balse to thicken the inboard side of the nose any way.
I've also been assing small pieces of 1/16 to the wing tips because I want a little more wood for the covering to hold onto and I wanted the leadout to be supported better that just being glued to the tip.

That's not much of an opsie, Jim. On the Akros I've built I cut out the plywood anyway. Just keep going.

I'm with Clint, Jim.
On my Akro, I cut the light ply out so the engine sits right on the maple bearers. I then had to cut the inboard doubler out to clear the crankcase.
Put your trippler in and make sure that it covers part of each bearer and runs back to the wing. Fit it to the wing and shape it to a cheek cowl that you like the look of.
Cheers, Geoff
