Title: Cardinette Kit Has ARRIVED!!!!
Post by: Robert Zambelli on November 17, 2009, 11:49:12 AM
I received, for evaluation and construction directions, the prototype Cardinette kit.   #^ #^
It is from Brodak and laser cut.
What you see in the pictures is everything except for the decals, hardware, spars, blocks and sheeting, all regular stock.

I will build and evaluate it and any changes will be incorporated into the production version.

If you want a capsule building summary and comments, read my article in Control Line World, Volume 1, Number 3, page 8.

Also, should you be interested in this kit, I suggest that you contact Brodaks directly.
The interest shown will indeed influence the production schedule.

This is what would like to see more of.  Laser cut parts with full size plans.  Maybe control system could be included.  I would like to pick out my own sheet and spar wood.

This is why are kits are soooo much better today than yester-year.

Very happy to hear that the Cardinette will be available in a kit.  For some reason, I was thinking that it be ARF or ARC only.  It's is on my gotta have list.

Hi, Guys - thanks for the good comebacks.

As far as I know, the Cardinette will be available as an ARC, ARF, laser cut kit or plans.

Regarding the ARF, I have put a substantial number of flights on the prototype and I like it more with every flight.
It should also be noted that I have NEVER touched the covering. I did not have to iron out so much as a wrinkle nor have I noticed any detachment.
The ARC will be standard - ARF minus covering. I have a feeling that it will be the most popular version.
The kit will be standard Brodak - if you check the catalog, you will see what is included with the regular kits. Expect the same with the Cardinette.
Plans will allow very easy scratchbuilding.

As an item of interest, I plan to go through my engines to come up with the following: OS Max S .25, OPS FP .25, Fox .25 (3-bolt) and ST .23. All to be tried in he Cardinette ARF prototype.
I do not have an LA .25 but if anyone is curious as to how it would work out, they could loan me one and I will try it.

I would also like any suggestions to improve the aircraft.

One thing for sure - I plan on adding a supplementary instruction sheet to show the implementation of a radial type mount instead of beams. I am  now using them on all my planes and I'm very pleased

Firewall mount also works great for UNSPEAKABLE power selections!  ;D

Are they going to be ready for the Holiday's ? Chrismas presents ? What is the cost of the kit and the afr version going to run. Any kind of deal on the accessories ? if you buy the tank wheels and spinner can you get a combo price available ? Cost ? When ?
