Updated Shark 45 plans
« on: February 18, 2025, 04:01:13 PM »
I just sent out a Shark 45 kit back east after going through the plans and doing more modern updates.  I drew the original plans in 1997, so they could benefit from a refresh.  I'll attach the PDF's for anyone wishing to view them.  As Tom Dixon says: "Stunt Porn".  Always got a kick of us who just like looking at stunt plans.

Thanks for posting, Pat.  I'm with you...love looking at plans.  It's fun to dream about building something new.

Ditto...dreaming is cheaper than balsa or time. I have a lot to dream of. Some are on paper, and more are digitally stored. While I was never fond of the cockpit/rudder on the Shark, I see lots of valuable building info. That fiberglass over blue foam nose is a golden nugget to me, so this one is getting added to the digital collection. One of my favorite prints is a full size Gee Bee with a three foot wingspan from Dalton Hammett several years ago. If my wife kicks first, all of my prints will become living room wallpaper! Yeah, she knows it too 🤣

Pat - Did you ever put out an electric version of the Shark 45?

Love looking at your plans!

Kermit, no I have not done one yet. Honestly, I have little experience with “60” sized electric packages. That said, I did do an Epiphany 687 for Randy Ling. I could simply extract the setup from that and insert it into the Shark 45. I have built an electric Shark 35 and it turned out well. I should do the 45 conversion.

I believe an electric Shark 45 would make my short list of near future builds!
