Not sure where this goes. Does anyone know where I can get Carbon Fiber LG's for CL stunt ships? Thanks.

For full fuselage, larger stunt models, Randy Aero.
There have also been some interesting articles on making one yourself...Heman Lee did a nice article, and it's on his website. Bruce Perry showed some pictures of his mold, which I believe inspired Heman's article. The great thing about this is getting exactly what you want. H^^ Steve

Windy sent me a Carbon Fiber kit and a complete video on making them yourself but, I am pressed for time. Will do that later for sure.

I tend to make my own.

Price for the second one you make might not be too bad, but the first one might be kind of expensive ;D
(Even more if it takes a few tries to get a good one.)

The thing is, if you never try you will never know. D>K

Much less if one was to follow Heman Lee's article, instead of ordering Epon epoxy from Europe by the gallon and paying to have the mold CNC milled from a block of aluminum. ;) Steve

Hi Steve,
Dou you have a link to Heman Lee's website for me please? I's like to have a look at that article. Thanks!

Igor, could you post some dimensions and price for your LG?
Also...for the composite engineers...I've seen a lot of CL planes with CF landing gears tend to bounce violently if the pilot makes a slight mistake. It seems to me like this is similar to the increased sensitivity and power of CF fishing rods, since that's what I'm most familiar with. The common "fix" is to add a cable tensioner between the axles to stiffen the LG further. I keep thinking that using some Kevlar in the layup would soften the LG and improve the landings. The Winship LG on my Eagle is rather soft and is pretty forgiving, but not perfect. I think an aluminum LG is much easier to land well...and those are generally 6061T6. ??? Steve

It would for one landing.

Ive been making profile carbon LG for some time and even had a report on this in CLW. it was a lot of fun, but Steve does have a good point. My planes do bounce rather more than using wire LG when I attempt a landing. Now, Carrier landings are nothing like a PA landing, but there is some thoughts about CF in PA LG may not be what you might like to try. Just my opinion. Do what you want.
